The name Jamolectric is a combination of the words "jam" and "electric". It describes the two most important elements of the project of Markus Herrmann from Mannheim and Matthias Engel from Heidelberg. Since 2003 the German producer-duo has been recording jam sessions with various artists and combined them with electronic beats and sounds. Each creation is based on their longtime experience as live musicians with Matthias Engel on Fender-Rhodes and piano and Markus Herrmann responsible for catchy guitar riffs and grooves.

The sound of Jamolectric reminds of the genres "lounge", "newjazz" and "downbeat" and is most suitably described as organic. The listener is taken in by the grooves and the complexity of Jamolectric’s music.
